A Year of Art, A Shift in Possibility

Some stories begin with a spark. This one began with a number.

While researching how Indian artists could better navigate the art world, a pattern emerged that was impossible to ignore: a country of over a billion people, millions of artists - documented and undocumented - working in silence across every corner of this land. Yet in the global art market, fewer than 500 names seemed to represent all of India.

Not because the talent was missing. The talent was everywhere.

What had failed was the system around it - not through malice, but through neglect. Through structures never designed to discover what they could not already see.

That realisation did not stay academic. It demanded action.

India Rising is that action.

It is a year-long series built to do one thing with conviction: reduce the distance between extraordinary Indian art and the world waiting to discover it. Not through a shortlist of familiar names, but through open calls, blind jury evaluation, unconventional venues, and immersive formats that give every genre, every voice, and every unknown artist an equal chance to be seen.
